CONPEF INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF FORENSIC SCIENCES

The participation of external institutions in the CONPEF International Network constitutes exclusively a voluntary scientific collaboration between independent organisations. It does not constitute, nor may it be interpreted as, membership, enrolment, affiliation, partnership, or any other form of institutional link between the participating organisation and CONPEF.

Institutions participating in the network remain fully autonomous and legally independent from CONPEF. Participation in the network does not alter their institutional standing, their accreditation procedures, or their position with respect to any professional register or regulatory authority, including MIMIT.

The individual members of a participating institution do not automatically acquire any status, qualification, or right within CONPEF. Individual professionals who have professional interests or activities in Italy may, however, apply on a strictly personal and entirely voluntary basis for CONPEF membership, subject to the requirements set out under Italian Law no. 4 of 14 January 2013 and CONPEF's internal regulations. The two memberships remain entirely separate and independent: individual membership of CONPEF does not derive from, imply, or replace membership of the home institution.

Participating institutions may collaborate with CONPEF on comparative research, scientific publications, development of methodological protocols, professional training, and the work of the National Observatory on Judicial Errors. They may also be listed in the official Network directory and invited to participate in the International Forensic Science Summit, the Network's main annual event.

Scientific collaboration does not create any legal, hierarchical, financial, or representational obligations between the parties. No participating institution is a member of, affiliated to, represented by, or bound by CONPEF in any way. Each institution retains full autonomy while contributing freely to an international network dedicated to scientific cooperation and the prevention of judicial errors.
